Fighting Climate Change with an Endless Runner. This is the first 3D PROTOTYPE game i have made using Unity and Maya.

You play as a mythical wolf running along a path avoiding the obsticles that are in the way.

i love how the environment around sets the feeling of a desolate place, making the endlessness of it feel daunting. with the theme of climate change this gets the message across well that this is not a world you want to live in. only thing i would say is that its not clear on some parts if the obstacle is in the way or not until its too late. maybe readjusting their positioning would help

The visual style is very consistent from the decorations to the obstacles. The controls feel very responsive.

Collectables could help incentivise the player to play more and a UI for a countdown and a counter for said collectables would also be a good improvement.

high points:

  • the illustrated 'game over' screen fits really well with the theme and colours of the game
  • the art style remains consistent and the 3D models are very well done

suggested improvements:

  • adding a feature such as collectables (with a UI counter), a timer, or a distance meter, allowing the players to quantify a score

The Art style of the game is nice, I like that the models go well together to make a really nice looking endless runner track.
It would be cool to see if the player character had a animation/animations to make it feel more smooth as you are jumping over the obstacles.
Furthermore, I would also say that the obstacles sometimes spawn inside of each other and that maybe they should be spaced out more in order to avoid these obstacles clipping inside of each other.

Overall, this is a great start of a 3D Endless Runner game & it runs as well as functions smoothly.

I like that you modelled all the assets in the background and obstacles it helped to make the game look consistent. It was clear what the obstacles were, however, it would have been nice if the path was more narrow so that a player could easily tell that they were blocking the full path and if the jump was slightly higher because it was challenging to jump over obstacles at times. Also the illustration for the retry scene was a nice touch, but it has some format issues in full screen mode.

Your game is pretty good. It's well made and functions alright with some nice 3D models. It's fast paced and keeps a player hooked for a little while and the art on the game over screen looks pretty cool.

For improvements, I would say perhaps adjust the obstacles. They seem a little wonky and spaced out at times which makes it look like the track's clear in places, and yet the player hits something that triggers the game over despite that. So I would say move some of the obstacles closer together.

I would also say the jump needs modifying, there are some obstacles that are difficult to jump over so perhaps adjust it to be a little bit higher. I would also suggest adding some collectables into the game so that it gives the player a goal and something more to focus on.

But other then those points, it's a solid start and works really well, good job!
